Americans are moving places. According to the most recent U.S. Census Bureau data results, more than 36,000,000 people relocated last year, an increase from the previous year’s record low mover rate of 35,100,000 million. And while many of those stayed within the same county, plenty of them packed their bags and moved to a different state.

Data from Penske Truck Rental, a global transportation services provider, showed that warmer climates were the biggest motivator to move last year. Check out where Americans moved in last year, and why Phoenix, AZ is third on the nation’s top ten:

While summer days can peak well into the hundreds, evenings are great for dining under the desert stars. Phoenix AZ real estate residents enjoy kayaking, hiking and biking in the spring and winter months, before the heat of summer gets too high. The Phoenix real estate market is rebounding fast from its post-housing bust lows, the median Phoenix home sale price is still a reasonable $131,000.
